The Unarmed Combat Program

 

The Club offers a two year program in unarmed combat, broken into two one year certificate levels, Part A followed by Part B. The syllabus of each is as follows: 

  

 

Part A:

  1. Statistics, Situations, Psychology & Principles.
  2. Unarmed Combat Techniques – Standing.
  3. Identification and application of improvised weapons.
  4. Techniques – practice, momentum & leverage.
  5. Introduction to SRMS karate (ungraded students only).
  6. Standing & on-the-ground grappling.
  7. Two Man Kata: “Encyclo-A”.
  8. Kumite & randori training.
  9. Resistance training for increased strength & flexibility.

 

Part B

  1. Principles of Unarmed Combat.
  2. The 100 Percenters.
  3. Advanced grappling.
  4. The Karate Throws. 
  5. Single opponents in the street. 
  6. Multiple opponents in the street.
  7. Edged & other weapons in the street.
  8. Advanced Two Man Kata: “Encyclo-B”.
  9. Advanced resistance training.

 

The program is offered at the Clubs own centrally located rooms located at 9-11 Moyle Street (near White’s Flat), Ballarat. For ages 18+.
