In memory of

(Passed away 15th March 2024, aged 76yrs)

The Ballarat Karate Club would like to pay tribute to one of our most dedicated and loyal members, Graeme (Mick) Eaton.

Mick commenced with the club in the mid-seventies and was awarded the B.K.C. club Dragon in 1981, a much-respected award that acknowledges heart, courage and fighting ability.

He passed his first black belt exam of Shodan in 1987 and his second black belt exam of Nidan in 2010.

Mick was awarded Life membership to the club in 2005 after 30 plus years of dedicated service.

Mick was a passionate instructor who gave freely his time and expertise to all. A fighter to the very end and while he no longer steps onto our dojo floor, his memory, courage and fighting spirit lives on with all who were privileged enough to have known and trained along side him.

In memory of

( 24 04 1963 – 08 04 2013 )

Bryan Mawby commenced training at the Ballarat Karate Club in June 2006 and was a highly respected member and outstanding contributor at both senior and junior training nights.

He was awarded the BKC Dragon on the 11th February 2012 and achieved his 3rd kyu brown belt on the 12th December 2012.

His courageous battle with brain cancer lasted 15 months until his fight finally ended in April 2013.

His memory, dedicated service, courage and spirit lives on within the walls of the Ballarat Karate Club dojo and the pages of this web site.
