Renshi Barry Govan’s extensive Judo background combined with strong karate skills made for a very well rounded exponent. Strong straight line punching combined with a devastating foot sweep. Able to fight with a natural mix of Karate and Judo throwing techniques.

HANSHI BARRY PACKHAM
Hanshi Barry Packham who combined previous training in Judo and competitive weight lifting developed extremely fast and accurate attacking and defensive techniques. An excellent technician in setting an opponent up applying front kicks, roundhouse kicks and a lightning fast back fist.
Current rank 9th degree black belt and Master Kise’s Australian representative.
SHIHAN ROD HILTON
Chief Instructor 1979 to 1983
Shihan Rod Hilton trained in Judo, weights and Karate. A powerful and strong exponent in both kumite and kata, he had devastating front and round house kicks on either side. A strong all round fighter in both stand up and ground fighting techniques.

SHIHAN JOHN CREBBIN
Chief Instructor 1983 to 1995
Shihan John Crebbin initially trained in Judo before concentrating solely on Karate. Utilizing front and side kicks with straight line punching he was a hard puncher with excellent technique. A strong leader of the club over many years Shihan Crebbin developed excellent all round expertise in Kumite, kata and Kobudo.
Current rank 5th degree black belt. (Retired 1995)
KYOSHI WAYNE REDDROP
Kyoshi Wayne Reddrop commenced training in Judo before crossing over to karate. A committed karate-ka who has trained continuously since 1975 maintains strong defensive skills with an attacking roundhouse kick, leg sweeps and strong punching attacks. Has excellent skills in kumite, kata and an extensive knowledge of Okinawan Kobudo.
Current rank 7th degree black belt.
